Education can be lots of fun...
This year the Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium is 28 years old and for a special treat this year, the educational side of the annual event is dedicated to History of Lincoln County. With historical documents dating back to the 1880s, Lincoln County has a diverse range of population and an equally large range of visitors. The history of Lincoln County is an intriguing mix of cultures, traditions and even unique animals.
Make sure you stop by the different educational sections to see interesting facts about Fort Stanton, the Town of Lincoln and make sure you take a tour of the Wonders on Wheels Bus to learn about some of the original inhabitants of Lincoln such as the woolly mammoth that was found in the Nogal area!
This year the children of Lincoln County were offered the chance to enter multiple contests covering coloring, drawing, poetry and story writing. Stop by the Turf Club at 3:00 pm on Saturday to observe some of the entries.
A big thank you to R.D. and Joan Dale Hubbard for allowing us the opportunity to bring education to the children of Lincoln County and our many visitors.
